A FOOTBALL CLUB WITH ROOTS
Football is an integral part of the surrounding community. Successful clubs have their own, strong local identities. Growing into life-long fandom often starts from the club’s own junior and block leagues.
Pallokerho-35 has its own roots in Viipuri, the once-thriving capital of Karjala. Viipurin Pallokerho sports club, bearing the red and black colours of the province, was established there in 1935.
After the wars, the club was relocated to Helsinki and was renamed Pallokerho-35. As the years passed, the club’s range of sports became more focused: nowadays PK-35 is purely a football club. Gradually during the past 70 years, the club has tightly intertwined with North and Northeast Helsinki regions.
We are proud the loyalty and enthusiasm that our supporters and more than 700 official members have shown throughout the club’s history.
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
The recent years have been good for PK-35.
Our first team plays at the second highest national level and our older junior teams are doing well in national leagues. The opportunity for additional training for the most talented players was also introduced.
The development of our core competencies has been especially pleasing. Enthusiastic junior league activity, co-operation with day-care centres as well as increase in number of girl and non-league teams are just few examples our core values and the broad basis of operations.
As lately, the club has focused on improving two critical success factors: the training conditions and quality of coaching. These improvements give us an excellent starting point for successful seasons to come.
